From minor challenges to major crises, stress is part of life. And while you can't always control your circumstances, you can control how you respond to them. When stress becomes overwhelming or chronic, it can affect your well-being. That's why it's essential to have effective stress relievers that can calm your mind and body. This course will examine stress in the workplace, discuss how stress affects our health and well-being, and discuss what steps we can take to decrease stress in our lives.
During this session we review what warning signs and behaviors to look for, how to develop a culture of wellness and a support system within the workplace, and the available resources for a person in crisis.
Summer is approaching us, and with the sun and fun comes a number of safety concerns to keep in mind. This training is going to provide you with ways to stay safe in heat related injuries, boating safety, swimming safety, fireworks, barbeques, sports, everyday exercise, and vehicle safety.
IAW Section 312 of federal SARA Title III, the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) states that any facility covered by the Federal OSHA Hazard Communication Standard must report Extremely Hazardous Substances (EHSs), as identified under Section 302, in quantities at or above the Threshold Planning Quantities (TPQs), or 500 pounds (whichever is less); and/or Hazardous chemicals, regulated by the federal OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, which are present at your facility at or above 10,000 pounds at any one time during the calendar year. During training we identify which chemicals telecoms have on-site, to include Sulfuric Acid and Lead, which may exceed these thresholds and require reporting to the EPA.
Trenching and Excavation work is the starting point of most projects. Before digging, you should know the hazards and safety practices. The most common hazard encountered in trenching and excavation is cave-ins. However, some risks, such as hazardous atmospheres and falling objects, are unknown. After this course, you will understand soil types, soil testing, types of trench collapses, trench protection, and safe working practices when working in a trench.
Work zones are some of the busiest and potentially most hazardous work environments you can find, as workers perform tasks close to vehicles that are often traveling at high speeds. From distracted driving to a lack of awareness of the work being performed to motorists traveling at excessive speeds, work zone incidents are caused by various reasons. This course will give you an understanding of the regulations that pertain to protective safety measures (traffic control), worker visibility, warning signs, and requirements for work beyond and on the shoulder and closure of a lane.
