Falls are the leading cause of death in the workplace. This training covers safe practices to prevent falls and other physical injuries dealing with ladders and rooftops. Ladder users will be able to recognize and avoid ladder hazards and be aware of safe practices in inspecting, setting up, and working from this equipment. Employees will also understand the OSHA requirements for fall protection on roofs and any other elevated platforms above 4 feet.

During this course, we will review the potential danger of extreme heat, thunderstorms, and tornadoes, as well as weather terms, how to protect yourself, and first aid procedures. Rabies is a contagious and serious disease that is caused by a virus passed through the saliva of dogs and other wild animals to humans. Although most reactions to insect stings from a bee, wasp, hornet, or fire ant are mild, causing little more than redness, itching, stinging or minor swelling, in some rare cases these bites and stings can result in severe reactions. During this class we discussed the best ways to prevent getting bitten by either an animal or insect, and the treatment for both rabies and insect bites.
Poisoning by dangerous gases are far too many. If we are careful enough, there is no need to worry. The most common gas poisonings that cause toxicity in our daily life are carbon monoxide but there many others. Depending on its concentration in the air, they can cause cardiac and pulmonary disorders, behavioral disturbance, central nervous system involvement and movement and vision disorders, headache, fatigue, coma, breathlessness and even death. They are particularly dangerous in enclosed spaces where its presence is difficult to perceive as most are colorless, tasteless, and odorless. This training will help the employee understand where they come from and how to prevent and eliminate exposure.

When hazards have been identified and exposure cannot be eliminated PPE must be used to prevent injuries. We discussed several types and classes of PPE to include eye ware, respiratory protection, hard hats, hand protection, and foot protection. Employers must also ensure their employees are trained on when PPE must be used, how to use it, its limitations, how to care and maintain their equipment, and the recommend replacement standards for their PPE.

This online course looks at some of the common violations, solutions to those violations and the possible penalties for these violations. Learners will look at the criteria for penalties and how each person can help to prevent violations.
IAW Section 312 of federal SARA Title III, the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) states that any facility covered by the Federal OSHA Hazard Communication Standard must report Extremely Hazardous Substances (EHSs), as identified under Section 302, in quantities at or above the Threshold Planning Quantities (TPQs), or 500 pounds (whichever is less); and/or Hazardous chemicals, regulated by the federal OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, which are present at your facility at or above 10,000 pounds at any one time during the calendar year. During training we identify which chemicals telecoms have on-site, to include Sulfuric Acid and Lead, which may exceed these thresholds and require reporting to the EPA.
