Histoplasmosis

Histoplasmosis is an infection caused by breathing in spores of a fungus often found in bird and bat droppings. Histoplasmosis is most commonly transmitted when these spores become airborne, often during cleanup or demolition projects or working in attics where bats roost. Because of this danger, it is imperative for telephone installers to be aware of the potential risk. This course discusses the symptoms, what type of testing is required to diagnose the illness, how to treat the illness, and how to prevent catching the virus by using PPE.
