IAW OSHA 29 CFR 1910.268, OSHA's Standard for Telecommunications we discussed the he safety hazards associated with installing or maintaining fiber optic systems. The items discussed included the possible harm to an eye by the laser; the possibility of glass slivers getting into an eye or under the skin and how to properly handle and dispose of the slivers; and the hazards associated with using chemicals used for installing fiber; and the hazards associated with fiber construction.
